loaf of bread prices will increase further

All-Ceylon Bakery Owners’ Association says that the price of a loaf of bread will increase to Rs 300 due to the rapid rise in the price of wheat flour in the market.

Currently, the wholesale price of a kilo of wheat flour is between Rs 350 and 400 and the retail price is between Rs 360 and 380. Due to this, the bakery industry has been severely affected.

Meanwhile, regarding the shortage of wheat flour, Prima and Serendib companies agreed to release their stock in the wholesale market.
