Government's opinion on the death penalty

Additional Solicitor General Nerin Pulle said that there is no change in the government's policy decision that the death penalty will not be implemented.

The Additional Solicitor General stated the facts regarding a petition called in the Supreme Court. When a fundamental rights petition was filed before the Supreme Court today requesting that the death sentence of 04 defendants sentenced to death for drug charges be revoked.
