Turbulence in the lower atmosphere develops as a low pressure zone

The lower atmosphere south-east of Sri Lanka has developed into a low pressure area. The Meteorological Department announced that it may intensify further in the next 24 hours.

An increase in rainfall is expected in most parts of the island and there may be occasional rain or thundershowers in Eastern, Uva, Northern and North Central provinces.
